The activity centre within the home is a space for Residents to enjoy their free time with a wide range of activities, from games and puzzles to painting and drawing.

Residents are encouraged to explore their creativity, and we intend for the centre to aid them in staying mentally and physically active. The activity centre also includes an Occupational therapist lead learning skills kitchen and laundry.

The home features a large landscaped garden complete with a generous decking area for BBQ, summer activities and social events for the residents. The home features a large sensory room designed to be a space for calm and relaxation, filled with tactile toys and equipment for sensory stimulation. Alongside, we have installed a Sensory Garden, with planters to grow our own vegetables, other seasonal plants and flowers for everyone to enjoy.

Location

May Lodge is situated in Teddington, within the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames in south west London. It is on the north bank of the River Thames, between Hampton Wick and Twickenham.

 Mostly residential, the area is well served with a wide range shops and leisure facilities.

May Lodge overlooks the beautiful Bushy Park which features more than a thousand acres of parkland including trees, ponds and a host of interesting wildlife.

Cinemas, gaming and bowling centres are available in nearby Kingston.

Education & training opportunities

May Lodge is close to Kingston College, Kingston University and St Mary’s University. There are training opportunities in Tesco and Teddington Co-op, in addition to other employers in the area.

Hampton Wick surgery and local pharmacies are less than a ten minute walk from the lodge. Kingston Hospital is the largest hospital in the area and is 15 minutes’ drive away.

Transport

Hampton Wick train station is just twelve minutes away by foot and Teddington train station is just 18 minutes away. Both provide access to Central London. There is a bus stop outside the lodge, providing easy access to both Kingston and Isleworth.
