Venus places a high priority on working closely with the families of residents to allay any concerns or anxieties they may have about their relative and, importantly, inform them about ‘care in progress’ – both in terms of milestones achieved or any setbacks.
Nominated family members are accorded full access to reviews of their relative’s care plan. Frequent visits are encouraged, especially on birthdays, at Christmas or on other religious festivals or family occasions.
Prior to a resident’s admission, close members of the family are welcomed into the home to meet with the home manager and key staff. Throughout the resident’s stay, the home manager acts as the main point of contact for the family liaison.
