We specialise in providing care and support for adults with mental health and learning disabilities and other complex needs, including physical disabilities, and those from a forensic background with either a history of criminal activity, or who are at risk of re-offending.
Our bespoke care plans ensure that the emotional and physical needs of everyone living in our homes are expertly assessed. In addition, these needs are addressed around the clock by a full complement of day and night staff, supported by person-centred software.
All care plans are continuously monitored, with residents being engaged in regular counselling when behavioural targets are reviewed and daily activity programmes can be discussed and agreed. We also use augmentative communication aids including pictorial evidence, social stories and Makaton to support residents with a hearing or speech impediment.
Our highly skilled staff engage professionally with all our residents on a daily basis. This means helping them with decisions about their everyday lives – which range from simple choices about menus, activities, and what clothes to wear – to bigger and often more challenging issues. We help residents understand the nature of personal risk, and how to make sound decisions about their own conduct to ensure positive outcomes.
Residents also participate in group sessions, on topics including anger or stress management, or, at a more communal level, to discuss and agree the venue of the venue of the next accompanied holiday or outing.
" I needed a lot of help before I was ready to step down into supported living. Staff took me on public transport and showed me how to buy tickets. They taught me about how to cross roads safely. I learned about managing my finances, how to cook and self-medication. I am now able to lead a much more independent life "
