Lotus Lodge is a seven-bed facility in the London borough of Redbridge, specialising in medium to long-term care for adult males and females diagnosed with moderate to profound learning disabilities and other complex neurological conditions that require continuous care. These include autistic spectrum disorders, cerebral palsy, physical impairments, acquired brain injury, and speech impairment.
The service at Lotus Lodge is focused on providing care both for long-stay residents and those who, because they are less impaired, have prospects for stepping down into supported living or directly back into the community.
“All staff are aware of their responsibilities in respect of the Mental Capacity Act and the Deprivation of Liberty Standards.”
“Residents were supported to access relevant healthcare professionals, including general practitioners and speech and language therapists”
“Residents were supported to eat a balanced diet, to ensure their nutritional needs were met in a safe way. Residents told us they enjoyed their food”.
" After many years in care Patrick, a paraplegic, had a lifelong dream to see Manchester United play. One weekend, staff volunteered and took him to watch a live match. No one had ever bothered to do this before. "
